Each of them is unique and independent and meaningful in their own right. However, taken together they collectively represent a pictorial insight into the essence of the Corporation. The shield's gross external shape is that of a shield over a scroll. The shield is a protective device and symbolizes protection. The scroll is an ancient written document and symbolizes a valuable written message. MEDEX Enterprises, Inc. has some very valuable written medical information and learning strategies, some of which we are willing to share with others in a protected internet environment. The shield is basically a hybrid of two different shields. The top half of the shield is from a Native American culture. It utilizes a leather laced attachment to a visible external support structure. The bottom half of the shield is from an African culture. It incorporates a leather laced attachment to a concealed internal support structure. Items from different cultures blended together to form a functional unit. The staff of MEDEX Enterprises, Inc collectively represent a variety of cultural backgrounds working together as a team with the goal of helping others. Our ability to help comes from our gifts, skills and internal strength plus the helpful talents and strengths of those external to our company. At the top of the shield are two dangling eagle feathers. Dangling eagle feathers were used to identify the “Indian Medicine Man” who had special healing powers, with the help of the “spirits” and who made medicines in his primitive pharmacy. At MEDEX Enterprises, Inc. we believe that medical education is the foundation of the healing arts. We also believe that the Holy Spirit guides and helps us as we endeavor to teach, heal, and help others. At the center of the shield is the cross which is symbolic of the fact that MEDEX Enterprises, Inc. is a Christ centered company. Our mission is to help people, in a Christian manner, enjoy a healthier, happier, productive lives. We treat people as we would like to be treated (Matthew 7:12). We believe that a wise person will want to increase their knowledge (Proverbs 1:5). We also believe that those who are a blessing to others will themselves be blessed (Proverbs 11:25). Our National Board Examination Preparation and Review Course is based on helping individuals learn more, increase their medical knowledge data base, and improve their ability to remember and recall more medical information. If we can't help you, then we won't just take your money. The shield is divided into four quadrants. There are four basic tenets of the course: reading, writing, repetition, and recall. Like the four seasons of nature, spring, summer, fall, and winter, they continue to follow each other cyclically. Memory is improved by rereading, rewriting, repeating, and recalling information over and over again. There should probably be an "R" in each of the four quadrants to represent "Read, wRite, Repeat, and Recall". The symbols within the quadrants are also significant and relevant. Starting with the upper left hand corner and going clockwise, they represent medicine, knowledge, enlightenment, and helping. The head is a picture of the Egyptian Imhotep (~2900 BC), the true father of medicine long before the Greek Hippocrates (~410 BC). The single snake on a staff is taken from the Biblical healing of the people of Israel from deadly serpent bites (Numbers 21:6-9) and now is a symbol of medicine. The row of closed books represent knowledge and information. The open book is symbolic of reading and learning. The flame lit torch represents enlightenment and controlled power. The globe is symbolic of the world and the people therein. The two hands signify helping others, helping the less fortunate, and also giving and receiving. The scroll beneath the shield contains the corporate name and slogan: MEDEX Enterprises, Inc., a Christian medical education company, enlightening and helping others in the past, present, and future.
